EcoStruxure™ Micro Data Centre with Stratus® ftServer® enables deployment of zero-touch Industry 4.0 data centres for critical assets across the Oil & Gas value chain
November 4th – Stratus Technologies, a global leader in simplified, protected, and autonomous Edge Computing platforms, today announced its participation in Schneider Electric’s booth (#4250, Hall 4) at ADIPEC 2021 featuring the EcoStruxure Micro Data Centre (MDC) with Stratus ftServer. Demonstrations of the MDC’s fault tolerance, uninterrupted power supply, and cybersecurity protections will give attendees hands-on experience in the quick and efficient deployment, management, and protection of Oil & Gas applications and equipment data at the edge.
The EcoStruxure MDC is tested, validated, and available with pre-loaded software, such as AVEVA™ System Platform, in a physically protected, single enclosure solution, solving IT and OT management as well as data latency and bandwidth issues. The MDC architecture, which is available in a range of configurations, also simplifies the specification, purchase, and deployment of best-in-class class hardware and software from Schneider Electric, AVEVA, and Stratus. The result is a 40% reduction in field engineering time, a 7% reduction in maintenance costs, and a 20% increase in speed-to-market.

Data Efficiency and Reliability for Oil & Gas
The Stratus ftServer’s virtualisation capabilities consolidate workloads. This includes concurrently running monitor and control, on-premises historian, manufacturing execution, asset performance management, and automated material handling applications as well as advanced AI and ML applications. The Stratus ftServer also provides cybersecurity out of the box with its core software and operating systems wrapped in standard security protocols. Providing further protection, Schneider Electric offers physical security on its enclosures, including locks and card readers, along with its NetBotz security and environmental monitoring capabilities.

About EcoStruxure Micro Data Centre with Stratus ftServer
The EcoStruxure Micro Data Centre with Stratus ftServer is available in 6U, 12U or 42U rack sizes purpose-built for the rigors of industrial environments and powered by Schneider Electric Secure Power solutions. Schneider Electric’s smart, uninterrupted power supply (UPS) offers protection against electrical hazards, remote support, and “graceful” calculated shutdown. Each MDC also has integrated cooling and optional environmental monitoring (temperature, humidity, fluid, smoke) and security (door sensors and camera).
The 42U enclosure adds NEMA-12 with filters and ventilation fans and is ideal for larger deployments where additional IT gear is required, and dedicated IT space is not available.
