Taizhou city is located on the central coast of China’s Zhejiang province, facing the East China Sea to the east. It is bordered by Shaoxing and Ningbo to the north, Wenzhou to the south, and Jinhua and Lishui to the west. Taizhou administers three municipal districts (Jiaojiang, Huangyan and Luqiao), and manages two county-level cities (Linhai and Wenling) and four counties (Yuhuan, Tiantai, Xianju and Sanmen). Taizhou, home to 65 towns, 28 townships and 38 sub-districts, has 5,037 village committees, 149 communities and 142 neighborhood committees. With a population of over 5 million, Taizhou occupies a total land area of 9,411 square kilometers.
