Business Critical Applications that are both Portable and Interoperable.
Business critical applications that run on the Hewlett-Packard® HP-UX® operating system, run unchanged on Stratus® Continuum® systems. The Hewlett-Packard HP-UX operating system provides a reliable, standards-based approach for companies to run and manage business-critical solutions. Most important to Stratus is the fact that it provides enterprise-level functionality, including broad scalability, high performance, a large number of application solutions, and integrated system and network management solutions.
Running Hewlett-Packard HP-UX operating system on the Stratus platform is a logical choice. The Continuum Series is based on the HP® PA-RISC 8000 processor. Stratus believes the Hewlett-Packard HP-UX operating system represents the richest set of opportunities for the company, its existing and potential customers, and the network of Independent Software Vendors who supply critical application solutions for vertical markets. Leveraging our experience with UNIX® , Stratus has enabled the Continuum platform to run shrink-wrapped solutions that already run on the Hewlett-Packard HP-UX operating system.
The Hewlett-Packard HP-UX operating system is an X/Open UNIX 95-branded operating system that conforms to X/Open's Single UNIX Specification, as well as standards that include XPG4, SVID3 Level 1 Application Program Interfaces (APIs), OSF AES, and de facto APIs such as BSD. This adherence to standards help make solutions running on the Hewlett-Packard HP-UX operating system both portable and interoperable.
