Challenge:

The company was running out-of-date backup software for its network monitoring and analysis application. Furthermore, system backups were taking more than a day to complete, necessitating backups be done during off hours.

Solution:

Stratus and partner, DRA, Inc., jointly proposed an integrated solution with online backup capability for this longtime client. This solution improves the integrity of backups, reduces backup time, improves file restore time, and is capable of integrating VOS backups with the company’s enterprise backup facility. The Stratus Solutions Services team worked to implement, install, configure, automate, integrate, train and document the solution, completing the project in just three months, including the 30-day testing period!

Result:

Now, a backup can be done online in four hours or less, decreasing operating costs while maintaining system integrity. The client went on to install the integrated solution in several of its major data centers throughout North America, resulting in state-of-the-art backup facilities.
