A major South American credit card processor servicing locations in more than 4800 cities.

Challenge:

With business growing 30% annually, capacity was an issue. The need was especially great during high transaction periods, such as Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and the year-end holiday season.

Solution:

The Stratus Solutions Services team had worked closely with this client for several years, providing performance analysis, capacity projections services and system tuning. As the company grew, new Stratus^® Continuum^® systems and upgrades helped handle the load. To maintain sufficient capacity during the peak periods, accommodate future growth and keep enough reserve capacity for disaster recovery (DR), Stratus recommended that the client migrate its third-party transactions processing application to the ftServer^® V Series system. Because Stratus had over the years developed a trusted advisor relationship with the client, the company acted on the advice, replacing nine Continuum systems with three V Series systems.

Result:

Thanks to the high performance of the V Series systems, there is more than sufficient capacity to support business growth well into the future. Furthermore, the reduced need for additional systems, as well as reduced maintenance costs and third party data center expenses result in huge cost savings.
