Client:

Based in San Bernardino, California, Arrowhead Credit Union is a $750 million financial institution with 136,000 members.

Challenge:

Arrowhead's members expect to be able to conduct financial transactions anytime and anywhere. Arrowhead's previous technology did not allow for online backup; the ATM/EFT system had to be taken offline so that daily transaction records could be backed up. As Arrowhead's network expanded, better ATM/EFT uptime was a primary goal, largely because of the issue with backup. Also, the credit union had standardized on the Windows operating system and set out to identify an ATM/EFT platform that would run in this environment.

Solution:

Arrowhead trusts a fault-tolerant Stratus^® ftServer^® W Series system paired with Mosaic Software's Postilion^® Realtime solution to handle some one million financial transactions monthly. The credit union recognizes the advantage of an ATM/EFT platform that is engineered to provide 99.999% availability, yet installs and manages as easily as an ordinary Windows server does.

Result:

The ftServer system handles member transactions at 70 Arrowhead ATMs and at in-house ATM locations within large companies. The system also processes members' point-of-sale transactions and helps enable surcharge-free ATM access by switching transactions to and from the CO-OP Network, to which Arrowhead belongs. The CO-OP Network has even recognized the outstanding continuous online ATM transaction processing performance of Mosaic's Postilion software at Arrowhead Credit Union with an award. At this writing, the combination of Mosaic software and Stratus hardware has served Arrowhead Credit Union and its members successfully for more than a year.
