Seamless access to your VERITAS or Tivoli enterprise backup facility

SuperSync Enterprise Backup consists of the SuperSync Disk Array running network backup client software. The SuperSync Disk Array emulates a tray of VOS disks and uses the same administrative commands familiar to VOS users.

SuperSync Enterprise Backup connects to your network infrastructure, which allows the enterprise backup server access to the disk partitions residing on the SuperSync Disk Array. The backup client software recognizes these partitions and backs them up as disk images.

Once the disk images are backed up,they can be restored to any reserved partition selected by the network backup administrator. Once restored,the disk images can be accessed as standard VOS disks.

Physical connections

SuperSync Enterprise Backup connects to Stratus Continuum systems through a Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapter, JBOD, or SCSI host adapter. The Stratus host sees the SuperSync Disk Array as one or more standard VOS disks.

Like all Stratus servers, SuperSync Enterprise Backup provides internal redundancy. The SuperSync unit is configured with a parity drive. If one drive fails, the others keep running; there is no loss of data or processing time.

Cache is battery backed, so no writes or reads are lost even in a power or component-level failure.

SuperSync Enterprise Backup is custom configured at your site to match your system configuration at the time of deployment.

SuperSync Enterprise Backup is sold and serviced by Stratus Technologies. Product warranty is provided free of charge for 90 days following product installation, and may be extended by a service contract thereafter.
