Fast, seamless access to VOS data on enterprise storage arrays

Real-time disk emulation and data translation capabilities allow Continuum system users to store and retrieve data on a storage array just as if the data were stored on standard Stratus disks.

The StorGate Storage Gateway supports all VOS disk-related commands and functions. It uses standard RAID partitions to store VOS data on the array, which allows the array to manage VOS virtual disks as standard RAID storage volumes.

Physical connections

The StorGate Storage Gateway connects to ftServer V Series systems through a Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapter or JBOD.

Configuration options

A variety of highly flexible configuration options are provided for access to the storage array from VOS hosts. These include StorGate Storage Gateways duplexed with Stratus disks and duplexed StorGate units.

The StorGate product has been tested and certified by Stratus for connections to EMC^® Enterprise Storage. For information about connectivity to arrays other than EMC storage, please contact a Stratus sales representative.

Performance

Testing indicates that the best performance is achieved when the virtual disks on the target storage array are configured as target-specific mirrored metavolumes. Performance in other environments may vary depending on a number of factors; these include application data access patterns, overall target array configuration, and I/O activity by other hosts attached to the target.

Product support

The StorGate Storage Gateway is sold and serviced by Stratus Technologies. Product warranty is provided free of charge for 90 days following product installation, and may be extended by a service contract thereafter.
