WhiteCap and ARI Partner for Data Reflection for VOS WhiteCap Applications, Inc. and Application Resources, Inc. (ARI) have recently teamed up to embed disaster recovery into Periscope file access. We call this new feature Data Reflection. Stratus® VOS files that are accessed via Periscope can now have automatic disaster recovery protection.

In 2004, WhiteCap Applications introduced Periscope file system access. With Periscope, you can access the VOS file system from an Oracle® database. Access is real-time and full-function (read, write, update, delete). Quite a number of VOS customers who want to access their VOS file systems via Periscope already have complex disaster recovery (DR) environments in place. Their VOS data has established stringent disaster recovery mirroring requirements. Periscope data modifications from external applications would have to be automatically reflected in the backup platforms.

To quickly answer our customer's needs, WhiteCap and Applications Resources, Inc. (ARI) teamed up to embed ARI's DRMS disaster recovery software into the Periscope connection. DRMS provides full VOS IO replication to backup modules. By embedding DRMS into Periscope, all Periscope file access is automatically replicated to the backup VOS platform. When you modify your VOS data thru a Periscope database connection, the VOS data changes are automatically replicated to your VOS
