David C. Laurello
President and Chief Executive Officer, Chairman of the Board
David Laurello rejoined Stratus in January 2000 from Lucent Technologies, where he held the position of Vice President and General Manager of the CNS (Converged Network Solutions) business unit. At Lucent, Dave was responsible for engineering, product and business management and marketing. Prior to this role, he was Vice President of Engineering of the Carrier Signaling and Management Business Unit at Ascend Communications. From 1995 to 1998, Dave was Vice President of Hardware Engineering and Product Planning at Stratus. Before Stratus, he held a number of senior engineering management positions at Digital Equipment Corporation. Dave earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and an MBA from the University of Massachusetts.
Dave is a member of the Stratus Board of Directors. In addition, he serves as a director on the boards of the Massachusetts High Technology Council and the Massachusetts United Way of Tri-County. Dave is also a member of the advisory board of the Manning School of Business, University of Lowell.
Robert C. Laufer
Sr. Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer
Robert Laufer joined Stratus in 1989 and held various financial management positions of increasing responsibility before being promoted to Chief Financial Officer in 1998. Before joining Stratus, Bob was the Assistant Controller for Lasertron, Inc. and from 1984 to 1986 he was Controller for Microfab, Inc. In 1982, He became a Certified Public Accountant while employed at Ernst & Young. Bob is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He earned both a bachelor's degree in business administration and an MBA from Babson College.
Bob is a member of the Stratus Board of Directors.
Nigel Dessau
Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer
Nigel Dessau is Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Stratus Technologies. In this role he is responsible for all marketing, communications and product management.
Nigel is also the driving force behind the website ‘The 3 Minute Mentor’ which provides simple, easy to follow career guidance in easy to follow three minute videos. The website is followed by thousands of subscribers from all over the world and is currently being turned into a book.
Previously, as Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of AMD, he was responsible for the company’s global marketing, image and campaign strategies. At Sun Microsystems, Nigel was Senior Vice President of Storage Marketing and Senior Vice President of Alliances and Licensing. Prior to that, he was Chief Marketing Officer of StorageTek and spent 19 years at IBM. While at IBM, Nigel managed the worldwide launch of IBM eServer zSeries and headed up marketing programs for the S/390 brand. As part of the Corporate Marketing Team, he led the marketing strategy behind e-business and the transition to On Demand Business.
Nigel was born and educated in Nottingham, England.

Susan W. Bailey
Vice President, Americas Sales
Susan has responsibility for the company’s direct and indirect channel sales operations throughout the U.S., Canada, Central and South America.
Before Stratus, Susan was a principal at Corporate Solutions, consulting with clients regarding go-to-market, sales, channels and services strategies. Prior to that, she served in senior positions at Avaya, Inc., including vice president of Global Product Support Solutions, vice president of Global Strategic Accounts, Systems Integrators and Service Providers, and vice president of Americas Sales, Global Accounts & Channels. She has also held executive marketing and sales positions with Storage Technology Corporation, Intelligent Electronics, Inc., and IBM where she began her career. Susan earned a Bachelor of Science degree at UCLA, and she attended the INSEAD Executive Management Institute in Fontainebleau, France. She serves on the boards of several non-profit organizations.
William B. Drury
Vice President, Product and Solutions Development
Bill Drury rejoined Stratus in 2009 as vice president of VOS development, systems engineering, and managed services, resuming his career that began in 1994. He left the company in 2007 to co-found an ethanol fuel processing start-up company and serve as its CFO. Previously at Stratus, he played key product development roles as vice president of software engineering. Before joining Stratus, Bill led software engineering teams at Digital Equipment Corporation, Interlan Inc., and DataChecker Systems, Inc. He has both bachelor and master of science degrees in electrical engineering from Ohio University.
David Harrington
Vice President of Supply Chain and Corporate Quality Officer
David Harrington is the Vice President of Supply Chain and Corporate Quality Officer for Stratus. He joined in 2009 and provides leadership for all facets of Stratus’ global supply chain and manufacturing operations including procurement, quality management and management of Stratus’ external contract manufacturers. Prior to this role, Dave served for 5 years as the Vice President of Supply Chain Operations & Manufacturing at Egenera Inc. Before assuming that position he served as co-founder and President of Allied Supply Chain Solutions, and held Sr. Management positions at Narad Networks, ACT Manufacturing and Data General. Dave is a graduate of Westfield State College, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics.
Haruyoshi Iida
President, Stratus Japan and Asia/Pacific
Originally joining Stratus in 1986, Mr. Iida returned to the company in 2010 to reassume leadership responsibilities for business operations throughout Japan, China, the Asian Peninsula, Australia and New Zealand. Before he first came to Stratus, he held executive sales and channel development positions in the Japan offices of IBM, Prime Computer, and Tandem Computers. For Stratus, he successfully developed the company’s business operations throughout Japan and AP over a 17-year period. In 2003 Mr. Iida left Stratus to become president of UGS PLM Solutions. From 2007 to 2010, he served as president and CEO of SolidWorks Japan, leading business-development initiatives for this 3D computer-aided design software leader. Mr. Iida received his Bachelor degree in commerce from Meiji University.
Delfi L. Nieto
Vice President, Human Resources
Delfi L. Nieto joined Stratus in 1997 and held various management positions before being named Vice President of Human Resources in 2008. She is responsible for the development, execution and management of Stratus’ worldwide human resources initiatives. Prior to Stratus, Delfi held senior level positions within Human Resources at NEC Technologies; and before that she was employed with Sentry Insurance Company. Delfi holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Fitchburg State College.
Fred Prifty
Vice President and General Counsel
Fred Prifty joined Stratus in 1984 and served as its general counsel and corporate secretary until his departure in 1995. Fred again joined Stratus in November 1998 to serve as the general counsel. From 1996 until rejoining Stratus, Fred maintained a private practice focusing on high technology clients and provided legal services on a pro bono basis to indigent and elderly clients in the greater Boston and Cambridge area. Fred worked previously at Prime Computer, Inc., Digital Equipment Corporation and at the General Electric Company.
Thierry Seror
Vice President, EMEA Sales
Thierry joined Stratus in 2004 as Country Manager for France. His leadership responsibilities were soon extended to include Benelux, Germany and Eastern Europe before becoming the Vice President for EMEA in 2010. He has overall responsibility for managing all aspects of the businesses throughout Europe, Russia, Africa and Middle East. Before joining Stratus, Thierry was the General Manager for the Enterprise Server Business Unit at Unisys France. He is a graduate of the ESLSCA PARIS Business School.
